What we use

We try to keep the site cookie-light. The cookies we do use fall into two categories:

Strictly necessary (no consent required)

• bandcheck_session — keeps you signed in once you've created an account. Persists until you sign out or 30 days, whichever comes first.
• bandcheck_consent — remembers whether you accepted or rejected the non-essential cookies below. Persists for 12 months.

Analytics (consent required)

• If you accept, we use our own first-party analytics (self-hosted, no third parties) to count page views and understand what's useful. It does not set tracking cookies — session state lives in temporary sessionStorage that is cleared when you close the tab — and it does not collect personally identifiable information.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any cross-site tracking cookies. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

How to control cookies

The first time you visit, the banner at the bottom of the page lets you accept or reject the analytics cookies. You can change your choice by clearing bandcheck_consent in your browser, or by emailing us.

Browser-level controls

All major browsers let you block all cookies in privacy settings. If you do, the site still works for the band check; you'll just see the consent banner on every visit.
