About BandCheck
BandCheck turns official, openly-licensed council-tax data into free tools anyone can use — and a per-address band check that tells you whether yours is too high.
What BandCheck is
BandCheck aggregates open UK government data — from the Valuation Office Agency (now part of HMRC), HM Land Registry and the Office for National Statistics — into free, embeddable tools, a JSON/CSV data feed and a per-address council-tax band check. Households use it to see whether their band is too high and what a challenge could be worth. The commercial side — a £4.99 appeal pack — funds the open-data tools, which are free for anyone to use, embed and republish.
Who's behind it
Morgan Hall is the creator of BandCheck and an open-data developer. The commercial side — £4.99 appeal packs — funds BandCheck's open-data tools, which are free for anyone to use, embed and republish.
